Fiesta Hermosa

FIESTA HERMOSA / Street to Beach
May 29th - 31st

Artists and Crafters from throughout the West will be featured at the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce's Hermosa Beach to Street Fair on Memorial Day Weekend from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all three days. The family-oriented festival will feature one of the California Beach Volleyball Association's (CBVA) WOMEN'S SWEET SIXTEEN and Open Volleyball Tournaments coinciding with two sound stages for several bands and the ASRA paddleboard Competitions. The street fair is located at Pier and Hermosa Avenues, and historically brings in about (120,000 estimated attendance).

SEMANA NAUTICA
July 3rd - 4th

The 70th Annual Santa Barbara Semana Nautical Summer Sports Festival will begin on July 1st and run through July 2nd 2010. Semana Nautica promotes athletic and recreational activity in Santa Barbara for all ages and abilities. This year's event will feature the CBVA's third stop of the Sweet Sixteen all women volleyball tournament. Thousands of participants from Santa Barbara, California and the western states will participate in every beach sport under the sun. This is the largest and longest running festival of its kind in the United States.

MALIBU SURF AND SPORTS FESTIVAL
July 23rd - 25th

The Malibu Surf and Sports Festival is a popular three day event filled with action. Elite athletes from around the country will converge to take part in celebrating the majestic beauty of the Malibu. The main stage area will have a display that will be honoring our troops and the many world class athletes who are the heroic first responders in the beach communities. The events takes place on the popular Zuma and Malibu Surfrider beaches. Activities include a myriad of surf events including craft racing, lifeguard competitions, beach volleyball, surf contest. This year's festival will showcase an AVP volleyball tournament at Zuma Beach and an elite Ocean Man Competition. (50,000 estmated in attendance).

WEST COAST LIFEGUARD CHAMPIONSHIPS July 23rd - 24th

The California Surf Lifesaving Association consisting of over 22 chapters and 10,000 senior and junior lifeguards will host the top California Lifeguard competitors who compete for top honors in a myriad of ocean events that are designed to keep our lifeguards sharp. These skills are directly responsible for saving thousands of lives each year. Bronzed men and women athletes compete in head-to-head races through the surf. 3000 Junior Lifeguards compete during the previous day in the largest youth event on the coast. It's all part of the longest-running Lifeguard Competition. This years event takes place @ world famous Crystal Pier in San Diego California. (40,000 estimated attendance).

INTERNATIONAL SURF FESTIVAL
July 30th - August 1st

Three of southern California's finest beaches (Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo) come alive with more than 3000 fit competitors and over. America's best beach athletes compete in a series of, beach runs, swimming races and, of course, surfing competitions. The festival hosts the King of beach events the "Saikley Six Person Volleyball Tournament." (125,000 estimated attendance).

WORLD BODYSURFING CHAMPIONSHIPS
August 21st - 22nd

The 30th Annual World Bodysurfing Championships will be held adjacent to the Oceanside Pier. Approximately 350 - 400 bodysurfers from arund the world compete in their respective age divisions for trophies and prizes. Vendors will be featured with product booths on the strand. (40,000 estimated attendance).

CATALINA PADDLEBOARD CLASSIC
August 29th

On Sunday, August 29th, 2010, paddlers from all over the United States and from as far away as Australia will take to the waters off of Southern California in the 35th Catalina Classic Paddleboard Championships, the premier and most historical paddleboard race in the world. Officially started in 1955 by Los Angeles County Lifeguard Bob Hogan, the first Catalina crossing was in 1932. The event will also include a CBVA volleyball tournament. (30,000 estimated attendance).
